By Martin Booth  Thursday Dec 23, 2021

We will have to wait until the new year to find out the verdict in the Colston 4 trial.

The trial at Bristol Crown Court of the four people charged with damaging property after the toppling of Edward Colston’s statue has been adjourned until January.

Rhian Graham, 30, of Colston Road, Easton; Milo Ponsford, 26, of Otter Close in Bishopstoke, Hampshire; Jake Skuse, 37, of Farley Close in Little Stoke, South Gloucestershire; and Sage Willoughby, 22, of Gloucester Road, all deny the charges.

Judge Peter Blair had started his summing up of the case that has attracted international media coverage before adjourning proceedings to January 4.
