Colston Hall piano finds new home in Southmead

By Hazel Needham  Tuesday Oct 23, 2018

As part of the ongoing £43.5m redevelopment of Colston Hall, which will reopen in 2020, valuable objects from the interior of the concert hall are being steadily removed. Items including chandeliers and plaster cherubs will be to be returned to the hall as part of the new venue, but much of the content is being donated to businesses across the UK.

Among the donations is Colston Hall’s much-loved Steinway piano, which has been transported to its new home at the Bristol Plays Music centre on Stanton Road in Southmead. The piano will be used by young people attending sessions with Bristol Plays Music, to rehearse on or use during lessons and exams.
