Coronavirus live updates, April 6 2020: PM spends first day in hospital
Gates have been locked shut in some Bristol parks in an attempt to stop people flouting the rules on lockdown.
The main entrance to St George Park off Church Road is fenced off, as are the car park and library car park entrances. But the park is still accessible from other entrances.
It comes as some people were seen sunbathing in parks across the city during one of the warmest weekends of the year.

- Work will begin tomorrow to create space for up to 240 bodies as part of a temporary mortuary at Bristol City Council’s vehicle fleet servicing depot in Brislington. Read our full story here.
- Foreign secretary Dominic Raab says prime minister Boris Johnson was admitted to hospital “as a precaution only” and remains in charge of the government.
- Bristol Sounds has been postponed until June 2021.
- The medical experts believe the restrictions imposed by the government are working, but it is too early to tell when they might end.

Children from Mama Bear’s Day Nurseries across Bristol have been busy creating bright and colourful rainbow pictures as a symbol of love and hope amidst the coronavirus crisis.
The children of key workers, who are still attending nursery, have joined in with the #chasetherainbow movement and created rainbow pictures to be displayed in the nursery windows or outside on fences and gates.

A temporary mortuary for almost 250 people will be built in Bristol City Council’s fleet services depot on Sandy Park Road in Brislington. It is expected to open by the end of this week to cope with an expected rise in the number of coronavirus victims.

Gloucestershire Police stopped more than 120 vehicles on the county’s major routes over the weekend. Fines given out to those found to be carrying out non-essential journeys included three people who were stopped on the M5 while travelling from Manchester to Bristol to pick up a new car.
