Cumberland Piazza pillars painted

By Bristol24/7  Tuesday Apr 28, 2015

A splash of colour has been added to the Cumberland Piazza with the painting of its pillars.

The painting over the weekend was part of Art Under the Flyover, a continuing programme of arts aiming to enliven and regenerate this corner of Hotwells.

The piazza was created in the 1960s when streets were cleared to make way for the flyover, with the area underneath redesigned by landscape architect Sylvia Crowe.

While it has remained derelict for years, there used to be fountains and playparks.
