David Attenborough coming to Bristol for Blue Planet II premiere
Sixty years of BBC Bristol’s world famous Natural History Unit is being celebrated in October with an exclusive premiere of Blue Planet II at Cinema De Lux in Cabot Circus, where Sir David Attenborough and other members of the production team will be in conversation after the screening.
Registration for tickets to the special event opens at 9am on Wednesday via this link.
“Bristol has been the global home of Natural History programme-making for the past 60 years so this will be a really special moment for us to get together with Sir David Attenborough and fans to premiere the new series of Blue Planet II,” said Natural History Unit head, Julian Hector.
is needed now More than ever
“We are really proud of this series and excited for fans to be some of first to see the programme ahead of its debut on BBC One.”
Blue Planet II will allow viewers to encounter surprising new landscapes such as methane volcanoes which erupt in the Gulf of Mexico; and the so-called ‘boiling sea’ phenomenon in the Pacific Ocean.
By taking two manned submersibles to explore the Antarctic deep at 1000m for the very first time, the series will also bring a new world to the audience.
Fans can register for tickets to the screening through the BBC Shows and Tours website. Registration opens at www.bbc.co.uk/showsandtours/shows/blue_planet_11oct17 at 9am on Wednesday, September 27. Tickets will be chosen at random. The event starts at 7pm on Wednesday, October 11, with registration from 6pm.
