Demo outside HMP Bristol in support of ‘kill the bill’ prisoners
A show of support has taken place at Bristol Prison for those inside after being sentenced for their actions during the ‘kill the bill’ riot.
The “noise demo” on Sunday evening saw demonstrators circle the walls of the prison in Bishopston in the week that Ryan Roberts was jailed for 14 years for his part in the violent scenes on March 21.
“These people are on the right side of history,” tweeted Bristol Defendant Solidarity. “We need to stand with them.”
is needed now More than ever
Bristol Defendant Solidarity wrote: “Last night a noise demo at HMP Horfield let #KillTheBill & anarchist prisoners know they are not alone. A good mob circled the prison walls, shouting out support, solidarity & our hatred of the cops, judges, courts and prisons. They will not break us or destroy our movements!
“We are proud of Ryan, Callum, Will, all other #KillTheBill prisoners, Toby and all those imprisoned for taking a stand against the authoritarian state and the rise of fascism.
“Whatever the hysterical forces of reaction say in the courts and the media, these people are on the right side of history. We need to stand with them. Fight back!”
