Dino Denzel brings Suspension Bridge to standstill
Traffic was brought to a halt on the Clifton Suspension Bridge as a dinosaur made a bid for freedom..
Denzel, a costume dinosaur standing at almost 2m-high and 4m in length, complete with blinking eyes and sound effects, stunned adults and children alike.
Passers-by stopped to take photos of the escapee, who was released to launch Bristol Zoo’s new exhibition, Dinomania.

.
Denzel is one of 11 life-like dinosaurs who will be transforming the zoo into a Jurassic jungle this summer.
Wendy Walton, director of commercial operations at the zoo, said the animatronic dinosaurs were being brought back to the Clifton attraction by popular demand following their last appearance in 2012 with new and larger reptiles.
Visitors will also be able to meet experts from The Bristol Dinosaur Project, which aims to teach people more about the environment and the history of their local area.
Walton added: “We try to do something different for our guests every year, so this year we wanted to bring the dinosaurs back.
“We’ve had a lot of pressure from our guests and from our members about the dinosaurs. They are one of those things that are just always very popular.”
The publicity stunt on Wednesday morning, however, didn’t go all to plan:

Dinomania will be at Bristol Zoo from May 27 to September 3. For more information visit www.bristolzoo.org.uk.
