With their horns blaring, dozens of coaches that drove through Bristol could be heard long before they were seen.
The coaches were taking part in an event dubbed ‘Honk for Hope’ – highlighting the need for urgent government support to help the coach industry survive the pandemic.
Drivers were taking part from companies across the UK, with the latest protest on Monday afternoon visiting both Bristol and Cardiff.
is needed now More than ever
“In the coming weeks the industry will help provide safe and secure transport to ensure children can get to school but it feels like it has been forgotten,” said Confederation of Passenger Transport chief executive, Graham Vidler.
“The industry will also be essential for the wider tourism industry getting back on its feet as it transports visitors to towns and cities across the country.
“It’s time for Government to pick up the challenge and provide the support the industry urgently needs.”
