Heritage open day at Jacob’s Wells Baths

With slide shows and activities for children, it is an opportunity to help determine the future use of the historic Hotwells building.

is needed now More than ever
Originally opening as public baths in the late nineteenth century, the space was transformed into a dance centre in the 1980s.
After Bristol City Council’s decision last year not to renew the dance centre’s licence, it is now being looked after by Artspace Lifespace, a community interest company that specialises in running arts events in buildings at risk.

The drop-in afternoon on Saturday will involve a number of talks from experts on the history and architecture of the Grade 2 listed building.
Visitors will also be able to go on tours find out about the original pool, the hot baths, the iron tanks used to store spring water and the internationally acclaimed rosewood sprung dance floor.
The afternoon is free to attend. For more information, visit www.facebook.com/JWBaths.Centre
