FA Cup: City and Rovers handed away ties
Table toppers Bristol City have been handed a trip to League One strugglers Gillingam in the first round of the FA Cup.
The Robins will face the team currently fourth bottom of the table on November 8, subject to TV selection.
In the draw for the first round proper this evening, Bristol Rovers were also forced to travel. They face a trip to Tranmere Rovers – currently in the League Two relegation zone.
is needed now More than ever
Rovers boss Darrell Clarke said: “It would have been nice to have landed a home draw, but Tranmere, who were a League One side last season, haven’t done too well so far this time around.
“It will be a difficult tie, of course, but once we have got Saturday’s game against AFC Telford United over and done with we will focus on the cup tie.”
