Fiddlers Club
It’s unlikely that in 1741, the French prisoners of war held behind bars in the town of Bedminster knew that the building they were held in would one day become a popular live music venue hosting the likes of Robert Plant and KT Tunstall

Fiddlers Club opened in 1994 and has a capacity of 450. It’s one of Bristol’s largest venues, but with a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Undoubtedly it has the reputation within the city for bringing the best in world music; Salsa, African, Reggae and Bhangra, as well as top UK and local quality acts.
Having hosted live music for the past 20 years, Fiddlers Club is proud to say that the likes of The Buzzcocks, Lee Scratch Perry, Dinosaur Jr, Manu Chao, Rubén González (the creator of Salsa) have graced the stage. The stone wall backdrop and spacious dance floor lend themselves to the grooviest up to date tunes of George Ezra or the laid back folk of Eliza Carthy, with her mum Norma Waterson and dad, Martin Carthy MBE. For those who enjoy their music but prefer to sit than boogie, there is a more than adequate seating area to the back of the venue with tables and chairs; a good area to catch up with old or new friends and have a natter.
is needed now More than ever
The layout is all on one level and is designed for good sight of the stage as well as providing easy access to the bar and toilets, and can be hired for events, private parties, and celebrations, with a late night bar and entertainment license to the wee early hours, depending on the day of the week how late we can close.
Although it’s situated in South Bristol, known as “down there somewhere”, Willway Street Business Park is in fact just a short 10-minute walk from the city centre via Queen Square, passing St Mary Redcliffe Church and across Bedminster Bridge (or “Bemmy Bridge” as you will hear the locals say!). You then enter the old town district Bedminster (“Bemmy”). Going down Bedminster Parade, you will see Asda on the right. Opposite is a turning for Philip Street that takes you to Windmill Hill City Farm. Immediately before the farm, turn left onto Stillhouse lane then take a right onto Willway street, where on your right you will see a great big stone building.
You can sigh a relief as you have found us, wrapped up down the cobbled street in an industrial estate and once you arrive, you know that only people that will be there are to see the music, enjoy themselves, and create a unique atmosphere.
