Fire brigade rescue stuck cat
A cat trapped overnight outside a house in Clifton has been rescued by the fire brigade.
Three-year-old Luna had gone outside on Saturday but did not return as usual to Apsley Road.
So that evening her owners Daniel Castro-Roa and Manuela Castro went looking for her but with no success.
is needed now More than ever
On Sunday morning, Daniel and Manuela carried out more searches at 6am and 9am to look around a wider area for Luna, and eventually found her trapped in some ivy outside Carlton Mansions on nearby Apsley Road.
She was too high up for a normal ladder to reach, so Daniel called 999 and within ten minutes the fire brigade arrived.
“It was quite a fight as Luna was very distressed so kept on moving from side to side,” 40-year-old scientist Daniel told Bristol24/7.
“Finally, they managed to corner her and get her off the ivy.”
Daniel added: “I was so impressed by the fire brigade’s professionalism and charm. To some a cat might be trivial but for us is a beloved family member.
“They behaved just like if they were rescuing a person.”
