At the height of the blaze, around 50 firefighters from nine different fire engines, two turntable ladders, a command unit and subsequent support vehicles were all deployed to help deal with the incident.

Firefighters proved successful in battling the blaze by using both hose jets from the ground and turntable ladders, preventing the fire spreading to further units around the docks.

The fire was finally confirmed to be put out at 8.30am, several hours after the alarm was raised. Crew members remained on the scene, checking for hotspots and damping down to ensure the safety of the area.

The cause of the fire is still unknown.
