Fire rips through flats in Hotwells

20 fire fighters tackled a blaze in a block of flats in Hotwells on Monday evening.

Four fire engines were called to the fire on Hotwell Road just before 7pm.

Fire fighters used breathing apparatus to search the building after a suggestion that one person may be trapped inside, but all people were accounted for.

One fire engine remains on the scene and investigations into the cause of the fire will begin on Tuesday morning.
