Former police station still with cells for sale as family home
A former police station for sale by auction in February still has cells where local miscreants used to be kept under lock and key.
The building off Jacob’s Wells Road dates from 1836 and was used as a police station for many years before becoming the headquarters of the Avon Wildlife Trust.
Auctioneers Hollis Morgan say that the property on Brandon Hill offers “a unique opportunity to create an iconic family home or residential development”.
is needed now More than ever
With an auction guide price of £650,000, it offers 5,444 sq ft of space spread over two floors and a basement, as well as an enclosed courtyard garden and another garden overlooking Jacob’s Wells Road.
It is thought that the property originally comprised two buildings, incorporating the police station to the rear and a residential cottage to the front.

The building is accessible via a pedestrian path from Jacob’s Wells Road
