Funderworld ready to return to the Downs
The country’s largest travelling theme park is set to make a return to the Downs after a three-year hiatus.
Funderworld normally visits the common in north Bristol every year but it hasn’t made an appearance there for several years amid cancellations due the pandemic. Postponement last year meant it was held in Hengrove Park.
The popular attraction is now coming back to Durdham Downs for its annual event – residing there for four weeks come the end of April.
is needed now More than ever
With an array of rollercoasters and rides, games stalls and fairground food, Funderworld promises to have something for everyone as it opens daily during Easter.

Organisers say this year’s event, running from April 8 to May 2, will include plenty of white knuckle-inducing attractions – from a 60m sky swing to three roller coasters. There is also set to be plenty of family-friendly attractions for young children including rides, fun courses and inflatables – but height restrictions will apply to some rides.
Hot dogs, freshly-made doughnuts, crepes, candy floss and coffee will be available for visitors to purchase.
Alongside the much-loved classic food and rides, Funderworld is debuting new attractions for 2022’s event, including Power Shot, acting as a reverse bungee, and a Motion Simulator.

There are three types of wristband available to buy, with more expensive bands granting access to more rides.
Entry prices range from £7.99 for a tots wristband, £12.99 for an adventurer wristband and £16.99 for a thrill seekers wristband. Tickets cost £4 for adults “unable to participate”.
