Grab a vaccine and a bargain at Primark’s pop up vaccination clinic

By Robin Connolly  Friday Jul 16, 2021

A pop-up Pfizer vaccination clinic will be open in Broadmead Primark on Saturday and Sunday.

The centre will be open to anyone aged 18 or over receiving their first vaccination, with no pre-booked appointment needed.

The collaboration is taking place as part of the Grab a Jab scheme, allowing young people to fit their vaccine in around their work and lifestyle commitments.

Vaccination pods will be set up in the ground floor fitting rooms, with up to 600 people expected to receive their dose over the weekend.

Speaking about the partnership, Dr Tim Whittlestone, clinical lead for the BNSSG Vaccination Programme, said: “We’re really excited to be collaborating with Primark Bristol to offer people in our area the Covid-19 vaccination in a place that is easy for them.

“Throughout the vaccine roll-out, we have challenged ourselves to think differently about how we make the Covid-19 vaccine as accessible as possible for the communities we serve; we’re grateful to the team at Primark for making this possible.

“Cases of Covid-19 in our area are high and rising. Getting vaccinated is the best way to protect yourself and the people you love from Covid-19, especially as restrictions lift from Monday.”

The clinic will be open to walk-ins throughout Primark’s store opening hours: 10am-6pm on Saturday, July 17 and 11am-4pm on Sunday, July 18.

Conor Walsh, director of sales at Primark UK said: “Wherever we can we try to support important local community initiatives.

“We’re really pleased that we can play a small part in supporting the work of the NHS by hosting the vaccination clinic in our Bristol store this weekend and make it even easier for people to get their vaccine.”
