A family statement said: “My beautiful son, taken too soon. Our lives will never be the same. We are all heartbroken and we will love you always and forever.”
Following the incident, Avon & Somerset Constabulary referred itself to the Independent Office for Police Conduct.
The mandatory referral was as a “result of police being in the proximity at the time”, but a police vehicle was not in pursuit of the car.
