Block of city apartment sell within hours
A new development of apartments in Bedminster have sold out within hours of being put on the market – and before any of them have been finished.
All 14 of the new flats in the converted Victorian ragged school building on William street, sold almost immediately after the opening of athe show home. The properties, developed by Helm Construction, went for between £185,000 and £280,000 in further evidence of Bristol’s pricey and competitive housing market.
In June 2016, Bristol house prices rose faster than anywhere else in the UK, rising by 14.7 per cent and surpassing other major cities including London.
Once known as St Luke’s Mission Hall Ragged School, the first reference to the hall is in a planning application submitted to the city council in 1876 for a “Soup Kitchen, Ragged and others School”.
The new development is expected to be completed by Christmas.
