Hundreds gather for inflation of giant Action Man balloon
Hundreds of people, young and old, gathered in Ashton Court Estate on Sunday evening to catch a glimpse of a giant Action Man-shaped hot air balloon being inflated.
The orange and blue figure was created in Bristol by Cameron Balloons more than 25 years ago.
He was designed by Mark Lockwood in a skydiving position, complete with flailing ankles, parachute pack and display style smoke canister, which also allowed a flow of hot air from the main envelope area into the feet.
is needed now More than ever
Once made, the Action Man hot air balloon arrived in Telford, Shropshire, in late May in 1997 and made his first flight over the town with the Cameron Balloons marketing team on board and a camera balloon flying alongside.
