Hundreds march for missing Michael

By Martin Booth  Sunday Mar 1, 2015

It is almost one thousand miles from Bristol to Monaco, but for the family and friends of missing boxing promoter Michael Graydon it’s just as important to raise awareness about his plight here as it is in the principality.

On Saturday, hundreds of people took part in a march from Broad Plain Boys Club in St Paul’s to College Green to highlight the disappearance of the father-of-one from Stockwood.

They carried banners, wore t-shirts with his face on, held blue and white balloons (the colours of Bristol Rovers, his favourite football team), and chanted “there’s only one Michael Graydon” – the song that used to be sung when Michael competed in the ring.

Michael was last seen on CCTV leaving a nightclub in Monaco at 1.40am on Saturday, February 21.

The next day, he failed to turn up for a boxing match he had tickets for and then did not arrive at the airport for his flight back to the UK.

Money is now being raised money towards the costs of Michael’s family staying in Monaco while the police investigation into his disappearance continues.
