Hundreds take part in water fight

By Bristol24/7  Wednesday Jun 3, 2015

There were running battles, hand grenades thrown and innocent bystanders hit.

But fortunately the weapon of choice was water as hundreds of people gathered in Millennium Square on Wednesday evening to take part in the biggest water fight Bristol has ever seen.

You could hear the squeals of excitement hundreds of yards away as some joined in with gusto, drenching anyone in sight, and others hung back, lobbing balloons filled with water from the perimeters of the square.

The location was perfect, with guns able to be easily reloaded in the fountains.

Luminous clothing was the choice for many of the participants with others in fancy dress.

Age was also no hindrance, with children not yet in double-figures attacking adults without any qualms, often getting a soaking for their troubles.

The running battles continued under a clear blue sky. Just a typical Wednesday evening in Bristol.
