In photos: Hundreds march for Gaza in Bristol
Hundreds came together on Saturday to march through the streets of the city centre, calling for a ceasefire and an end to Israeli occupation in Palestine.
Another aim of the march, which was followed by a rally on College Green, was to persuade Wael Arafat to end his six-week long hunger strike for Palestine.
The British-Palestinian, 29, originally from Deir al-Balah in central Gaza, is currently hospitalised in Bath after learning an Israeli air strike on his home caused the deaths of his sister and her four children.
is needed now More than ever
A Bristol Palestine Alliance spokesperson said: “The situation in Palestine demands urgent attention and action.
“The continued occupation and violence have inflicted immeasurable suffering on the Palestinian people, disrupting lives and undermining peace efforts.
“This march stands as a symbol of solidarity with those affected and a plea for immediate action toward a sustainable and just resolution.”
