In photos: Thursday’s Black Lives Matter march
Starting from Eastville Park and finishing on College Green, Thursday’s Black Lives Matter march came ahead of a bigger demonstration planned for Sunday.
Protesters congregated in the park where they took the knee and prayed before heading down Stapleton Road towards the city centre.
Once on College Green, they lay down for eight minutes and 46 seconds – the same amount of time that a police officer’s knee was kept on the neck of George Floyd before he died in Minneapolis.

There were also prayers said in Eastville Park before the start of the march
Many protesters had brought homemade banners
The march makes its way along Fishponds Road
Protesters marched (and scooted) along Wine Street and High Street towards College Green
Traffic on Baldwin Street was briefly brought to a halt
Protesters also stopped cars on the centre
Marchers stood in solidarity on College Green
