Inspirational Bristol social enterprise Babbasa moving to new community hub
An inspirational social enterprise that has supported hundreds of young people from inner-city Bristol is moving to a new home in St Paul’s.
Babbasa is a social enterprise that empowers people aged up to 25 from ethnically diverse and less advantaged communities to move into work, education or business.
Bristol24/7 has worked closely with Babbasa in the past, including hosting several work experience placements and partnering with them on the recent Ask About Me event.

The hub is envisioned as an office space and a cafe “that reflects a subliminal unifying theme of history, achievements and a can-do attitude”.
A Babbasa spokesperson said: “After getting feedback from young people, we are confident that our new space in St Paul’s will allow us to fulfill our vision and provide our young people with everything that they need within one multi-purpose hub.”
Young people will be able to drop by, either for a chat or to work on projects; and there will also be more space for workshop training, one-to-one sessions and larger events with key partners.

Babbasa now need to raise £29,000 to cover the cost of items including furniture, flooring, tech equipment, a kitchen suite, indoor and outdoor decorations, and renovation work on the building that was originally the crypt of City Road Baptist Church.
The social enterprise will be leaving their current home at Redbrick House at the end of June, which gives them just over a month to make the major transition to their new hub.
