Led By Donkeys billboard in Bristol says ‘real fans don’t boo their team’
Ahead of England taking on Italy in the final of Euro 2020, a billboard has appeared in Bristol lending support for the Three Lions.
But it also has a more subtle message.
‘Come on England. p.s. Real fans don’t boo their team’ says the billboard on Clarence Road which features a photo of England players taking the knee.
is needed now More than ever
It has been erected by the campaign group Led By Donkeys, who regularly and mercilessly mock our political leaders via billboards, projections and art.
In an Instagram post from Led By Donkeys on Saturday that has so far been liked by more than 8,000 people, they said: “Are you watching Priti Patel?”
That is a reference to the home secretary saying that England players were engaging in “gesture politics” by taking the knee for a few seconds ahead of kick-off.
Patel also refused to condemn England fans for booing the team.

The billboard in Old Market close to Trinity replaces Everything Must Go by artistic and activist duo kennardphillipps, an art “intervention” that aimed to confront the wasteful practices of many of the world’s leading brands.
