‘Local news reports the issues that the national news will miss’
In a city like Bristol, there are days when it is easy to not think beyond your street, or beyond your neighbourhood. During lockdown, our experience of Bristol shrunk to no more than a few miles beyond our front door.
On other days, it’s equally easy to be aware that Bristol is a city with more than 600,000 other people. There are art exhibitions, club nights and theatre shows happening on every corner but it can be hard to stay on top of what our city has to offer.
Local and independent news grounds you to your city and community however you may be feeling.
is needed now More than ever
Has a new shop opened up round the corner from your home? Bristol24/7 will let you know. Is there a new production coming to the theatre? Bristol24/7 will write a review. How did we react to the worldwide attention amid the Black Lives Matter movement? Bristol24/7 was on the scene when the Colston statue was pulled down and will be covering repercussions for years to come.
Local news reports the issues that the national news will miss. It celebrates local people and builds a community to be proud of. Bristol24/7 does all of this and much more – but it would not be possible without the help of its members.
