Man and woman charged with attempted murder

Police have charged a man and a woman with attempted murder following a serious assault in Stockwood on Sunday.

Martin Grant, 26, from the Erdington area Birmingham and Elly-Jayne Cox, 25, from Whitchurch, Bristol have both been charged with attempted murder.

A 36-year-old man was assaulted on Sturminster Road shortly after 7.20am. He has serious injuries to his hand and head and police say he remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

Grant and Cox have been remanded in custody and will appear at Bristol Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.
