Man attacked in early hours remains in hospital

A man in his 20s remains in hospital following an assault in the centre in the early hours of Monday morning.

Avon & Somerset Police were called to an area next to the fountains at around 1.30am, after the man was approached by multiple males and assaulted.

A police cordon remained in place around a bench close to Broad Quay for much of the morning.

Police say that the man’s injuries are not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening.

Anyone who saw what happened to the victim is being told to call 101 and give the reference number 5221218561.
