Manhunt launched after Fishponds shooting

Police are hunting for a man following a double shooting in Fishponds in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Two men, aged 44 and 45, were shot and one was taken to hospital with serious injuries after an attack in The Greenway, Hillfields, at about 1am.

Police announced late on Wednesday that they were looking for a black male, around 6 feet tall, dressed in black with cropped dark hair.

Speaking from the scene of the shooting, inspector Deborah Yeates said: “I would urge anyone with any information regarding this incident to come forward now. Any information, regardless of how insignificant you may think it is, might prove crucial to this investigation.”

She said did not have an update on the condition of one of the victims who was taken to hospital with “life-threatening” gunshot wounds to the chest.

She asked anyone with information to call 101, or contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if they wish to remain anonymous.
