Mayoral candidate ‘bored with sex’

By Scott Salter  Monday Nov 9, 2015

Independent candidate for mayor of Bristol, John Langley, says he is putting his adult entertainment interests to one side in order to concentrate on winning the election in May 2016.

In a statement, Langley – known in the adult industry Johnny Rockard – said he was bored with sex and is quitting porn so he cannot be “distracted” from his campaign.

“For the time being at least my adult movie interests have been shelved because, quite frankly, sex has become boring and every day is like Groundhog Day,” he said.

“It has reached the point where I simply can no longer cope with having too many women in my life, both directly and indirectly.

“The realisation of being completely overwhelmed came last week when, for the first time in my life I found myself having to turn down friend requests from females because my focus is 101 per cent on campaigning from now until May 2016.”

Langley added: “Over 40 years of being in the adult entertainment industry I think I’ve done everything it’s possible to do, and at the present time feel there is nothing new I can offer without repeating myself over and over, and over again.”

Previously Ukip Bristol’s vice chairman, Langley was suspended by the party after publicly refusing to step down, following details that emerged of an adult film shot in Bristol’s Castle Park starring the actor and producer.

Ukip had previously known about Langley’s other profession and had supported the politician, even after being featured in a documentary that had Langley try and recruit Bristol University students into the porn industry.

On his campaign website Langley says: “Lots in the pipeline, but as I am now an independent candidate it’s sensible for me to keep other campaign aims and objectives under wraps for the time being as I don’t want any of my plans and ideas hijacked by the main party candidates.”
