More arrests in wake of Bristol riot

A 22-year-old man has been charged and a further six arrested following scenes in Bristol that made global headlines.

Dylan Dunne, of Coalpit Heath, is due to appear at Bristol Magistrates’ Court on Friday charged with violent disorder and theft of police equipment

Police have also confirmed they have arrested a further six people in connection with the disorder that took place on March 21.

The events of that night were the first in a series of protests in the city opposing the government’s proposed Police, Crime, Sentencing & Courts Bill.

Avon and Somerset Police have released the following details of those arrested “over the past few days”:

A 24-year-old man from Bristol has been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and a public order offence. He has since been released under investigation.

A 25-year-old man from Bristol has been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and possession with intent to supply Class A drugs. He has since been released under investigation.

A 40-year-old man from Oxford has been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder. He remains in police custody.

A 24-year-old man from Bristol has been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder. He has since been released under investigation.

A 30-year-old man from Bristol has been arrested on suspicion of riot, arson, criminal damage to property valued under £5,000 and of assaulting an emergency worker. He has since been released under investigation.

A 27-year-old man from Bristol has been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder. He has since been released under investigation.
