Multi-million pound airport upgrade begins
Work has begun on a multi-million pound project to increase the size of Bristol Airport’s immigration hall.
A £2.3 million upgrade has been unveiled for Bristol Airport’s immigration hall to tackle queues in the arrival hall.
Set to open in spring 2017, the project will boost the number of passport control points from 10 to 17, and enlarge and improve the hall for a more streamlined, welcoming experience. Ten of the new passport points will be new generation ePassport gates, which management insist are faster than previous incarnations.
is needed now More than ever
It follows a major overhaul of the security area of the departures hall as part of the £24m west terminal extension. Another £2.3m is to be spent on improvements to the Silver Zone car park.
