Multiple people stabbed after fight outside Clifton nightclub

By Martin Booth  Sunday Oct 31, 2021

At least four men were stabbed in Clifton on Sunday morning, with nine arrests made so far.

Police forensics teams were at the scene on Queen’s Avenue near the Triangle, with a cordon in place centred around Pam Pam – a nightclub within a building owned by the University of Bristol.

The club was holding a Halloween event called Glitz Glam & Gore on Saturday night.

A silver BMW still remained partly on the road soon before midday on Sunday, facing towards Two Ways cafe.

Dressed in white suits, police forensics officers appeared to be focusing much of their attention on the doorway to Pam Pam, with yellow evidence markers able to be seen on the road including one next to the car.

A blue tent on Queen’s Avenue is not part of the police investigation, with the cordon stretching from Queen’s Road between Beacon House and Caffe Nero up to Elmdale Road.

In a statement on Sunday, Avon & Somerset police said: “Nine people have been arrested following significant disorder in the Clifton area of Bristol today.

“Police were called at 2.45am to Queens Avenue, with members of the public reporting a number of people fighting in the street.

“Four males were found to have been stabbed. They were taken to hospital for treatment by paramedics. A fifth male also presented at hospital with a similar injury.

“All five have subsequently been arrested and three of them have been discharged from hospital so far. Four other people are also in police custody.”

The statement added: “A police cordon remains in place while officers continue to carry out enquiries at the scene.

“The neighbourhood team has been informed and additional high-visibility patrols are due to be conducted in the area going forward.”
