Mum with just weeks to live raises money for daughter with life-limiting condition
Currently in a hospice and with just weeks to live, a mum is now thinking about giving her family the best possible future when she is gone.
Lisa Moncrieff lives in Clevedon with her husband Iain and their two children: Rosie, eight, and Reggie, two.
Forty-year-old Lisa has stage 4 bowel cancer, while Rosie has a rare, life-limiting form of muscular dystrophy called nemaline myopathy.
is needed now More than ever
Rosie has very weak muscle tone, uses a wheelchair and has spent a lot of time in intensive care at Bristol Children’s Hospital. Even a simple cold can present life-threatening symptoms for her.
Prior to Lisa’s illness, the family had been regularly fundraising to try to help Rosie live a more full and independent life.
With Lisa due to return home soon for palliative care, she says that there are some things that would really help Rosie such as a hot tub for hydrotherapy to stop her losing muscle function and a room for carers to stay overnight.
Charity 52 Lives is now raising funds for Rosie. To donate, visit www.52-lives.org/lives/352
