New billboard brings colourful message to St Werburgh’s
A new artwork has appeared on St Werburgh’s’ community billboard.
The billboard features the words ‘Spread love’ spread – literally – across a slice of toast.
The latest piece is a collaboration by local artist Ben Menter (@chouette), and Adblock Bristol.
is needed now More than ever
Adblock Bristol said the work “brought a simple message in a turbulent time”.
Ben has worked on graphics for a number of local Bristol businesses like Windmill Hill City Market, Afrika Eye Film Festival, East Street Market and Good Food and Co.
The colourful graphic was pasted onto the billboard on Saturday afternoon by Adblock Bristol campaigners.
The Burg Arts Billboard, next to St Werburgh’s Food & Wine on the corner of Mina Road and York Street, has seen many iterations since it was first launched in 2018 as a way to remove corporate advertising from the area.
Since then, Adblock Bristol has worked with a number of local artists for new designs on the billboard, with campaigns on everything from air pollution to celebrating local businesses.
