New bus lane for Anchor Road

By Bristol24/7  Monday Sep 7, 2020

Work to build a new bus lane on one of the main roads into Bristol started on Monday morning.

An extension to the outbound bus lane will be built along Anchor Road, following work done last year to create an inbound bus lane.

The road will also be resurfaced in places with safety improvements carried out on the pedestrian crossing outside We the Curious.

Work is expected to take around four months, with completion due in late January 2021.

Bristol mayor Marvin Rees said: “This is one of the city’s busiest commuter routes and it’s important that this work takes place to improve bus journey time and reliability.

“We are committed to reducing air pollution and traffic congestion, so it’s essential that we do all we can to make public transport an attractive option for travel in and around Bristol.”
