New campaign encourages people to continue visiting Wapping Wharf
This year’s Christmas lights switch-on at Wapping Wharf will mark the beginning of a new initiative encouraging people to visit and support the businesses in the area while Gaol Ferry Bridge remains closed.
The lights switch-on is taking place on Thursday, November 17 with carols from Bristol Cathedral’s choir, late-night shopping until 8pm, and plenty of seasonal food and drink treats from retailers.
The new initiative, called Bridging the Gap, aims to showcase the variety of independent traders in Wapping Wharf, focusing on the people behind the businesses and encouraging everyone to support them.
is needed now More than ever
“Everyone in the Wapping Wharf community has felt the impact of the closure of Gaol Ferry Bridge,” says Stuart Hatton, managing director at Umberslade, the developer behind Wapping Wharf.
“We want to remind everyone of just how important it is to shop local and support small businesses this Christmas as well as showcasing our amazing community and everything they do, whilst providing plenty of great festive activities for everyone in Bristol.”
