New timelapse video shows Nightingale Hospital Bristol nearing completion

By Martin Booth  Friday Apr 17, 2020

One thousand volunteers will be trained over the coming weeks before they start work at Nightingale Hospital Bristol.

Frontline staff training is also being carried out at UWE’s Glenside campus, with the new hospital nearing completion at the university’s Frenchay campus.

Nightingale Hospital Bristol will provide hundreds of extra beds as part of the national effort to respond to the coronavirus health emergency, if local services need them during the peak of the outbreak.

The temporary hospital will be able to receive its first patients from Saturday, April 25. It will be opening a small number of beds in the first instance and over time expand to accommodate 300 patients if this is required.
