A very welcome antidote to the testosterone-fuelled lager barns further along the strip and easily one of Bristol’s best waterside drinking holes, No.1 combines a left-of-centre drinks range, thoughtful food policy and a showcase of live music from Wednesday to Saturday. Midweek nights tend to lean towards the gentler end of folksy gubbins and jazz, whilst the weekends mean dancing daps a-go-go with anything from a 25-piece samba band to a skankin’ funk-hop orchestra.
