‘One of Bristol’s greatest strengths is the diversity of our city’
A new collective agreement promotes the values of equality, diversity and inclusion.
Bristol Equality Charter is a set of pledges to support creating a fairer, safer, accessible and inclusive city, with both individuals and organisations encouraged to sign up.
Speaking at the launch of the charter at the M Shed, Bristol mayor Marvin Rees said: “One of Bristol’s greatest strengths is the diversity of our city. That diversity brings with it a variety of approaches to life, insights and creative thought.

“This diversity also raises different challenges and needs that need to be met and this charter is a positive step forwards.
“By bringing individuals and organisations together to work towards shared values we will unlock opportunities for people across the city and ensure the Bristol we are building is a place where everyone can share in its success.”
The charter has been co-produced by a number of private, public and voluntary sector organisations, with the new Bristol Equality Network a group of individuals responsible for equalities within their organisations.
