One Tree Per Child project beats target
The Downs has a new resident; meet Bobalina the new beech tree which was planted by 20 students from Christ Church Primary School to congratulate 36,000 Bristol primary school students for not only helping to plant 39,000 trees, but also for smashing the One Tree Per Child initiative target by 3,000.
“Bristol is at the heart of what’s going to be world movement to get every child to plant a tree and that will make a huge difference to our health and our environment and that’ll make a better world because it’s your world,” mayor George Ferguson said at the event on Thursday.
