Palestine solidarity boat docks in Bristol Harbour
A boat emblazoned with the words ‘For the Children of Gaza’ has docked in Bristol Harbour.
The Handala boat moored in Bristol on Monday, as part of an ongoing international tour which aims to show solidarity with Palestinians living in the occupied West Bank.
The boat is the work of international advocacy group Freedom Flotilla Coalition, which has sailed 35 boats across the world since 2008.
is needed now More than ever
FFC coordinates action between numerous local campaigns involved in maritime efforts around the world, in the hopes of ending the Israeli occupation of Gaza.

A number of people took to the Cascade Steps on Monday to welcome the boat
The Handala has docked in harbours from Cyprus, Italy and Greece to France, Switzerland and now the UK.
The group’s latest campaign hopes to highlight the consequences of the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict on children living in Gaza.
Over two million of Gaza’s population is made up of children, and those as young as seven have been targeted and arrested by Israeli forces.
The Handala docks in Bristol a week after fierce fighting gripped the city of Jenin, a poverty-stricken city in the north of the occupied West Bank.
On July 3 the Israeli Defence Forces launched an offensive on the city, its largest in the West Bank for 20 years, causing thousands of refugees to flee the city.
The Handala will be moored in Bristol’s harbour until July 19, and will coincide with a number of events to highlight the plight of Palestinians in Gaza, including music nights, picnics and talks organised by Bristol Palestine Solidarity Campaign.
