Pensioner dies in flat fire in Easton

A man has died after a fire at a flat in east Bristol.

An 83-year-old man is reported to have died in a first-floor flat of a two-storey housing development on Greenbank Avenue East in Easton.

Firefighters using breathing apparatus entered the building to battle the blaze and found the body of a man. Despite the efforts of paramedics he was pronounced dead at the scene.
