Pictures of alleged murder locations revealed

By Bristol24/7  Tuesday Oct 13, 2015

Images of Becky Watts’ bedroom where she was allegedly killed and the bathroom where she was dismembered have been released by police as the jury visited the locations.

Jurors were taken by coach from Bristol Crown Court to see Watts family home, the place she was cut up and the garden that her body parts were stored in.

Nathan Matthews, 28, of Hazelbury Drive, Warmley, and his girlfriend Shauna Hoare, 21, of Cotton Mill Lane, Barton Hill, are on trial for murdering the 16-year-old.

They are accused of killing the teenager at her home in Crown Hill, St George, and then taking her body to Cotton Mill Lane where it was separated using a circular saw.

Matthews has admitted killing Watts but denies murder, claiming it was manslaughter. Hoare denies any involvement.

Donovan Demetrius, 29, of March Lane, Redfield and James Ireland, 23, of Richmond Villas, Avonmouth, pleaded not guilty to assisting an offender by “removing, storing in various bags the body parts of Rebecca Watts”.

Donovan’s brother Karl Demitrius, 29, and his partner Jaydene Parsons, 23, both of Barton Court, have admitted assisting an offender.

Becky went missing from her home in Crown Hill on February 20, sparking a major police search which drew the attention of the nation.

The search took police to Cotton Mill Lane in Barton Court before ending at a property around the corner in Barton Court, where Becky Watts’ body parts were discovered on March 2.

The full details of the prosecution’s case are being set out in court, where the trial opened in earnest last Wednesday.

The case continues.
