Plans for new homes with views of River Avon revealed
Proposals for up to 85 new homes on the riverbanks of St George are in the pipeline.
Woodstock Homes have unveiled plans for a development on a brownfield site on Blackswarth Road close to Netham Park.
They say the scheme would be a mixture of one and two-bedroom flats and have views of the River Avon.

There would be open and play spaces, landscaping and parking spaces.

Currently, the 1.6-acre site is under private ownership, including a gym, concrete supplier, engineering services and tachograph.
A spokesperson for Woodstock Homes said: “Woodstock Homes is planning to submit a full planning application for a new high-quality development, in a very sustainable location, comprising 85 apartments targeted at young professionals, families and first time buyers.
“We pick our locations carefully, where there is a real need, we build at high density on previously developed land, to minimise our impact on the greenfields around our cities and we build sustainably.”
They added: “The vision for the scheme is to create a sustainable new living environment, based around a fully integrated new community with new apartments that are accessible to everyone.
“The layout and massing has been designed to protect key views from public viewpoints, to ensure that the amenity of existing residents is safeguarded and to improve access to the waterside.”

The site sits between Netham Park and Avonview Cemetery
Woodstock Homes hope the homes will address the shortfall in housing delivery against Bristol’s local plan targets.
The developer is preparing a planning application to submit to Bristol City Council which will include the scale, layout and appearance of the scheme.
In the meantime, they have launched an online questionnaire “to understand local views”.
