Playing bowls at Clifton bus stops

By Bristol24/7  Tuesday Jun 14, 2016

Sir Francis Drake famously continued playing bowls as the Spanish Armada sailed towards the south coast of England.

In Clifton, it is unknown how many people continued their own games of bowls as their buses pulled into view – but they certainly had the chance to play the game as bus stops were transformed with a bit of artificial grass to celebrate the start of Big Green Week.

A number of stops on Christchurch Green were spruced up with bunting, balloons and their own lawns to entice people to ditch their cars and discover Clifton in a different way.
