Police want to speak to this man about damage to Alfred Fagon statue
Police have released a photo of a man they would like to speak to following damage to a statue in St Paul’s.
The man used an unknown substance on the bust of Alfred Fagon in Grosvenor Road Triangle, with witnesses reporting that he was attempting to clean it.
The bust is the only statue to a black person in Bristol.

The bronze statue of the actor, playwright and poet on the corner of Grosvenor Road and Ashley Road was unveiled in August 1987 exactly one year after Fagon’s premature death in London.
Officers were first made aware of the damage on Thursday, June 11.
