Prestigious Diana Award awarded to one of Bristol’s young heroes
One of Bristol’s young heroes, Momim Mohamed, has been awarded the honourable Diana Award for his work in taking a stand against racial injustices and tackling cultural taboos.
From the age of 17, Mohamed’s hand has heavily contributed to making positive change and promoting justice.
As a member of Integrate UK, he has delivered peer education workshops that have reached 10,000 people. Now beginning his Master’s degree, the 24-year-old is continuing to make a difference through advising organisations such as the United Nations, the Home Office and the Swedish government, and has also produced a viral video tackling racial inequality and Anti-FGM.
is needed now More than ever
As a young, Black, Muslim male using his voice to stand in the gap for the unrepresented, Mohamed was awarded the Diana Award for his work in bravely addressing issues such as violence towards women and challenging gender and racial inequality.
“To earn recognition as big as this for my work is astounding to me and I still can’t quite believe it! It still hasn’t quite sunk in but knowing that my family and friends are extremely proud of me has been amazing to say the least,” Mohamed says.

“I hope to inspire others around me to continue doing humanitarian work and that there’s no better feeling than making a difference in peoples lives. I hope to continue growing as an individual whilst breaking barriers, standing up for what’s right and be a voice to those that are underrepresented.”
The award was established in memory of Princess Diana and is awarded to those making a change in their communities.
“We congratulate all our new Diana Award recipients from the UK and all over the globe who are changemakers for their generation. We know by receiving this honour they will inspire more young people to get involved in their communities and begin their own journey as active citizens.
“For over twenty years The Diana Award has valued and invested in young people encouraging them to continue to make positive change in their communities and lives of others.” says Tessy Ojo, CEO of the Diana award.
Mohamed continues to go above and beyond in his daily life to be a catalyst for justice and change, and with a special speech from Prince Harry, Mohamed humbly receives his award.
