Working with Bristol24/7 membership

By Meg Houghton-Gilmour  Thursday Apr 7, 2022

At Bristol24/7 our independent journalism and community work is supported by our member community of over 5,000 people. To say thank you for their support, we work with independent local businesses in Bristol to offer our members exclusive freebies, discounts and competitions across the city.

How we can help your business

Offering a Bristol24/7 member perk puts your business in front of our most engaged readers for free and helps to support our journalism and community projects. We’re delighted to work with some of Bristol’s best independent businesses, including Bristol Beer Factory, The Assemblies Group, Team Love, Bocabar, Bristol Improv Theatre, Yuup, We The Curious and many more.

Perks work particularly well as part of a wider marketing package. Contact advertise@bristol247.com if you’d like to find out more about how this could benefit your business.

Businesses that offer our members a perk will be included in our newsletter to our 5,000 strong membership audience, and will also be featured in at least one article on our website which has 250,000 unique monthly users. Perks are also promoted regularly in our main newsletter to 12,000+ subscribers and across our social media channels to a combined audience of over 200,000 people in Bristol.

There is no cost to listing a perk with us, and we can work with you to tailor an offer that works for you and your team. We want to work closely with you to build a lasting relationship to help you reach your goals and audience and to help us maintain our independence and our projects. We’d love to hear from you with any ideas about how we can work together.

How your business supports Bristol

Member perks provide an extra incentive for people to support us, whether that’s as individuals for £5 a month or as businesses for £1,500 a year. A large proportion of this income goes towards our content and keeping our journalism independent, but we also invest heavily in community and social impact projects. We run an award-winning work experience programme and internships, we support local charities every year and we hire and train community reporters from across Bristol. We’re also extremely proud to have a dedicated climate editor and an LGBTQ+ editor. When you choose to support us by listing a perk for our members, you are also supporting a huge range of projects and people across Bristol. You can find out more about the work we are doing here.

The How to be a Chef programme at the Square Food Foundation is just one of many projects supported by Bristol24/7

What kind of perks do businesses offer?

We generally find that businesses that are able to offer something for free get the most engagement on their perks. This can be something to eat, drink, a ticket to a show or an experience. We also get high numbers of entries on competitions, so another way to reach our audience is by offering something to win such as a meal for two, a membership or festival tickets. We find that offering something for free does a really good job of getting footfall to your business, where people can find out more about what you do and become regular customers. We can also offer free trials and discounts and have a range of flexible options for how to make the logistics work for you!

The greater the value of the perk, the more we will be able to promote it.

I’m interested, how can I get involved?

If you’d like to discuss offering a perk to our members or just simply having a chat about how we might work together, please email partnerships@bristol247.com. We look forward to hearing from you!
